ANOTHER CENTENARIAN IN ORMOC RECEIVES CASH GIFT, OTHER ITEMS. Another Centenarian named Sosimo Belacsi of Brangay Green Valley, Ormoc City was paid a visit and awarded his cash gift by City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez herself on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Accordingly, Belacsi was born on January 4, 1923.

LGU-Ormoc gave a cash gift to the centenarian in the amount of PHP 20,000 while the national government has yet to send its PHP 100,000 cash grant through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Centenarian Program.

The country’s centenarian law provides that an elderly who has reached the age of 100 is entitled to a PHP 100,000 cash grant from the national government.

Belacsi also received an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a ukulele, a wheelchair, a cane, and a fruit basket, courtesy of Congressman Richard I. Gomez and Mayor Lucy.

On the other hand, vitamins from the City Health Department (CHD) and food packs from the City Social Welfare Department (CSWD) were also given to the said centenarian. Also present during the said visit were City Councilor Carmen Jean Torres-Rama, Maribel Gucela of the CSWD, Nina Bonita Restauro of the Ormoc City Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), Federation President Manuel Comagdang of the Federation of the Senior Citizens Association of Ormoc (FSCAO), and Brgy.
