In a message in behalf of Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez, Congressman Richard Gomez, and the members of the city’s 16th Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Councilor Lalaine Marcos reminded everyone that we only have one home, one planet, saying, “Remember the environment is for everybody, rich or poor, babae o lalaki, LGBT, ato ni and this is for our future… So, sige ta’g trabaho karon because we want our future to be better, dili lang savings ang makasalbar natu, kay bisan pa’g mag-save ta permi sa ato sweldo para sa ato mga anak, sa ato mga apo, if we do not take care of the environment, then wala lang gihapon na’y pulos. Remember, let’s take care of the environment, let’s conserve energy, let us do what is best for the environment and I assure you that it will paid for us in the future.” The city’s celebratory activity happened at the city stage with people from all walks of life in attendance.
