ORMOC CITY – A total of 2,300 individuals were recipients of the National Government’s Cash and Rice Distribution (CARD) Program, which took place at the Doña Feliza Mejia Covered Court of this city on November 23, 2024.


CARD is a project under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and is a joint initiative of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian in response to the challenge of the Chief Executive for lawmakers to provide food and financial aid for the needy.


The said payout was implemented through Office of House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Tingog Partylist. According to Josie Serseña of Tingog Partylist Ormoc Satellite Office, a total of 1,300 Ormocanons received PHP6,000.00 each, including 500 beneficiaries from the Municipality of Kananga, and 500 from Albuera. 


The said program is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Program. The DSWD identifies all the beneficiaries, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and indigenous peoples (IPs).
