WWF-PHILIPPINES AND LGU-ORMOC COLLABORATE TO DRIVE CLIMATE CHANGE ACTION. In a bid to bolster urban resilience and spearhead climate action initiatives, the Worldwide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-Philippines) met with LGU-Ormoc as represented by City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez on Thursday afternoon, May 23. The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders from both WWF-Philippines and the local government, underscored a shared commitment to implementing integrated and inclusive plans that prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship. Central to the discussion were the city’s ambitious cool and solar initiatives, designed to mitigate the impact of climate change while fostering sustainable development within the urban landscape.

Mayor Torres Gomez emphasized the significance of this collaboration, sharing, “In the face of escalating climate challenges, it’s imperative that we work hand in hand with organizations like WWF-Philippines to implement sustainable solutions that safeguard our environment and our communities.”

Atty.
