WATER SYSTEM TO BENEFIT MUNICIPALITY OF ALBUERA. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) advances with the construction of a water system in Albuera, Leyte which involves the construction of a dam, a filtration system, and extensive pipe laying for a total contract cost of PHP95,052,497.85 funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2024.
Once completed, this project will greatly enhance the municipality of Albuera’s ability to meet its residents’ potable water needs. The new water system will connect to the main water line of Albuera, significantly increasing its water discharge capacity. This improvement is particularly important for the supply of water to target barangays including Mahayag, Damulaan, and Tinag-an, which are high-lying areas.
As of now, the project has an accomplishment rate of 89.85% and is on track to be completed by December 14, 2024. This timely completion is eagerly anticipated by the residents of Albuera, who will benefit from a more reliable and accessible water supply. (PR / EV Mail July 22-28, 2024 issue)
