OVER 500 ORMOCANONS JOIN INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP DAY, CALL FOR CLEANER AND TRASH-FREE SEAS AND OCEANS. The Local Government Unit of Ormoc hosted a successful coastal cleanup drive with over 500 participants for International Coastal Cleanup Day on September 21, 2024 (Saturday).

Leading the cleaners was the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) with the more than 500 participants coming from different groups and organizations in the community. The initiative engaged the cleaners to remove trash from the Ormoc coastlines, mitigate water pollution, and raise awareness of the significance of the marine garbage problem.

The yearly activity which happens every 3rd Saturday of September was also graced by Chairperson, Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, City Councilor Lalaine A. Marcos. (By James Gadiano / EV Mail September 16-22, 2024 issue)
