ORMOC CITY – On Friday, September 20, 2024, this city facilitated a significant land title distribution ceremony for 134 beneficiaries of the Ormoc City Government Resettlement Site, which took place in Barangay Lao.

The beneficiaries received their land titles, not only signifying the legal transfer of land ownership but also the government’s commitment to improving the lives of the people. Accordingly, this initiative aims to provide housing for relocated families and secure their home rights.

City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez highlighted the importance of this ceremony in helping the community and empowering the beneficiaries, saying, “This is not just a home; this is your home and all yours.” She added that the government is prioritizing the welfare of the people,  trying their best to give shelter and protection to the families.

The land title distribution was also graced by City Councilor Lalaine A. Marcos, City Councilor Edmund B. Kierulf, MD, MPH, City Councilor Caren Torres-Rama, City Councilor Perok Rodriguez, City Councilor Burt Pades, Liga ng mga Barangay President and Ex-officio Member of the Ormoc City Sangguniang Palungsod (SP) Esteban Laurente, OIC-Housing Officer Atty.
