ORMOC CITY MAYOR LUCY TORRES and Leyte 4th District Representative Richard I. Gomez led the turnover ceremonies of a footbridge and a multipurpose building in two Ormoc barangays on October 18, 2024. The newly constructed footbridge is located in Barangay Labrador and is worth PHP 8 million. The said project connects Purok 1 to Purok 4, spanning 72 meters in length and 1.2 meters in width. Accordingly, beyond just linking disparate Puroks, the footbridge enhances people’s lives by facilitating safe crossing for kids on their way to school, as well as making it easier for elderly people and people with disabilities (PWDs) to go where they are going.

On the one hand, a turnover ceremony for a PHP4-million multipurpose building in Barangay Green Valley also took place on the said date. The newly constructed two-storey multi-purpose building has a total area of 102 square meters. Accordingly, this building will serve as a hub for barangay officials and a venue for various events.
