LGU-ORMOC SCHOLAR GRADUATES AND EXISTING SCHOLARS received their cash allowances and laptops or tablets from the same LGU on November 5, 2024 with City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez herself spearheading the honoring of said scholar-graduates, and the distribution of gadgets and cash allowances to freshmen of the City College of Ormoc (CCO). During the said event, a total of 32 Latin honor graduates were commended and given recognition, with each receiving a laptop to address the greater need for digitalization and interconnectivity, and cash incentives amounting to PHP15,000.00 as a reward for magna cum laude graduates and PHP10,000.00 for cum laude graduates. On the other hand, 89 scholar graduates who did not achieve Latin honors also received a cash incentive of PHP3,000.00 each.

Meanwhile, a total of 215 CCO freshmen received their tablets from LGU-Ormoc intended to help the information and communications technology-enabled education of said students and an allowance as educational aid amounting to PHP8,000.00 each.

The event was also graced by former Vice Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin, Jr., together with Sangguniang Panlungsod Members (SPM) Nolito Quilang, Perok Rodriguez, Edmund Kierulf, Jasper Lucero, and Lalaine Marcos, and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Krizea Caessandra Mercadal, who were joined by Dr. Gerry Penserga of the city’s Health Emergency Management Staff (HEMS); Atty. Ari Larrazabal; City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) head, Engineer Raoul Cam; and Public Employment and Service Office (PESO)-Ormoc Manager Josephine Hermosilla.
