DONGHOL GAINS A READING CENTER. Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez and Leyte 4th District Representative Richard I. Gomez led the turnover ceremony of the newly established Barangay Donghol Reading Center on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
The new reading center, accordingly, is part of a greater effort to give young people easily accessible learning environments that will support their academic development and encourage a love for reading. Further, it is said to have been established as part of a broader plan to increase the youth’s access to and interest in education. Community members and local leaders have long understood the value of encouraging a love of reading to boost young people’s academic achievement and personal growth.
The ceremony was also attended by Ormoc City Councilor Edmund Kierulf, SK Federation President Krizea Caessandra Mercadal, Atty. Ari Larrazabal, and Barangay Donghol officials led by Punong Barangay Reynaldo Pacaldo. (By James Gadiano / EV Mail November 11-17, 2024 issue)
