SM FOUNDATION TURNS OVER TO ORMOC CITY THE NEWLY-RENOVATED SAN PABLO DISTRICT HEALTH CENTER. On Wednesday morning, November 13, 2024, the local government unit of Ormoc (LGU-Ormoc) led by City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez together with Leyte 4th District Representative Richard I. Gomez attended the turnover ceremony of the newly renovated San Pablo District Health Center which SM Foundation Inc. undertook for a few months now in partnership with LGU-Ormoc.

Accordingly, the fruit of the collaboration between LGU-Ormoc and SM Foundation Inc. brings a healthcare system that can meet the needs of the people, providing healthcare support and comfortable healthcare facilities, and medical assistance to the community.

In her speech, Mayor Lucy highlighted the significance of the renovation in advancing the city’s healthcare system. “Health centers should be the kind where the moment you enter, you already feel some semblance of peace, some semblance of comfort, because only when you feel peace and comfort can you start also healing,” Mayor Lucy stated.

The San Pablo District Health Center marks the 210th wellness center supported by SM Foundation Inc., and accordingly, the facility is expected to significantly improve the quality of healthcare services in the community, benefiting not only the residents of San Pablo but also neighboring barangays.

The event was also graced by City Councilor Edmund Kierulf, SK Federation President Krizea Caessandra Mercadal, SM Foundation Inc. Executive Director for Health Programs Connie Angeles, City Health Officer Dr. Sarah Hermoso, Medical Officer Dr. Nico Nuñez, Tomas Serafica, and Atty. Ari Larrazabal.
