ORMOC CITY MAYOR LUCY TORRES GOMEZ spearheaded the turnover ceremony of the new Multipurpose Hall of Barangay Nueva Sociedad on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The ceremony marked the completion of the two-storey building, costing PHP6.5 million from the 2023 20% Development Fund with an area of 132 square meters, with each floor spanning 66 square meters.

Accordingly, the new facility aims to improve the barangay’s capability to hold different kinds of events, including educational programs and cultural events, and also serve as a center for social involvement in the local community.

The ceremony was also graced by City Councilor Lalaine Marcos, City Councilor Caren Torres Rama, SK Federation President Krizea Caessandra Mercadal, and Barangay Nueva Sociedad headed by Punong Barangay Edilberto Dejaño, Jr., who was accompanied by his fellow barangay officials.
