ORMOC CULMINATES ITS CELEBRATION OF CHILDREN’S MONTH. On Friday, November 29, 2024, Ormoc City culminated its celebration of the 32nd National Children’s Month under the theme, “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.”
Children from Ormoc’s six districts (1–6) took center stage, competing in many kinds of entertaining competitions that displayed their creative abilities, skills, and talents. Singing, Balak (poetry), coloring, Draw and Tell, and the much-anticipated Coronation of the Day Care Prince and Princess were among the events, with children contending for the titles in a lively and enjoyable environment. The culmination event was a day of happiness, pride, and hope, with both children and adults working together to ensure the youth’s safety and well-being, supporting children’s rights and welfare, so contributing to a safer and more equal future for all.
The event was also graced by Ormoc City Councilor Caren Torres Rama, who is the SP Chairperson of the Committee on Social Services, Population Management, and Vulnerable Sections; Ormoc City Councilor Burt Pades, OIC-CSWD Maribel Gucela, PEBCAO President Nickkhea Mae Villarmino, Family Welfare Head Jonah Lou Gordo, BFP Community Relations Section SFO1 Pet Paul Sotto, BJMP-Ormoc Acting Warden SINSP Jimmy Topia, CGDEV Assigned Officer JO1 Makoy Acorceles, TRN Travelers Inn Manager Everita Flores, Coop Officer Romy dela Cruz, OCPDAO Rhea Mae Cagat, enforcement agencies, punong barangays, SB members, BCA Federation Officers, BCA Representative per Barangay, Districts 1-6 Day Care Children, and day care workers.
