ON DECEMBER 10, 2024, ORMOC CITY MAYOR LUCY TORRES GOMEZ, along with 4th District of Leyte Representative Richard I. Gomez and Ormoc City officials, spearheaded the turnover ceremony of the Barangay North Covered Court. The covered court, which has a total land size of 510 square meters, was funded by the 2024 20% development fund at a budget of PHP12,500,000.00. In addition to the covered court, the project included the renovation and enhancement of the barangay’s comfort rooms, which spans 43.75 square meters. This addition demonstrates the local government’s dedication to upgrading public facilities and promoting the community’s well-being.

The ceremony was also graced by City Councilor Nolito Quilang, City Councilor Burt Pades, City Councilor Caren Torres Rama, City Councilor Lalaine Marcos, SK Federation President Krizea Caessandra Mercadal, and Atty. Ari Larrazabal, OIC-City Engineer Loucelle Araneta, and the Barangay North officials led by PB Monchou de Paz. (By James Gadiano / EV Mail December 9-15, 2024 issue)
