A TOTAL OF 463 GRADUATES blissfully attended the Ormoc City Technical Education and Skills Development Center (TESDC) 4th Mass Graduation, which took place at the Ormoc City Superdome on February 13, 2025. The activity was graced by Acting Mayor Sangguniang Panlungsod Member (SPM) Lalaine Marcos, wherein during her speech, she highlighted the transformative power of education through skills development and aimed for excellence. “Continue to grow, be resilient, and strive for excellence in everything you do,” she said. The said students were LGU-Ormoc Technical-Vocational Graduates along with other private technical-vocational institutes such as the Universal Skills Training and Assessment Center (USTAC) Inc., Beautiful Hands Farms, and Tempesto Rice Farm. The said students thrivingly completed their respective technical-vocational training in contact center services, agricultural crop production, organic agricultural production, electrical installation maintenance, shielded metal arc welding, and driving.

Of the 463 graduates, 336 are male and 127 are female. A total of 349 graduates are LGU-Ormoc Tech-Voc graduates, and 114 are TESDA-certified graduates. Meanwhile, during said event, LGU-Ormoc, through the OTESDC and Developing APP Solution, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the “Pathways Connect Building Skills and Careers through Industry Collaboration” employment partnership. The event was also attended by the Chairperson of the Committee on Education and Manpower Development, Sangguniang Panlungsod Member (SPM) Nolito Quilang; SPM Jasper Lucero; Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Director Dan Navarro; Developing App Solution Corp.’s Gerald Bautista; Developing App Solution Corp.’s CEO John Lian Carlo Leyson; OTESDC Center Administrator Allan Nobria; farm administrators and trainers; OTESDC Board Members; City Budget Officer Sabrina Duero; and Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Josephine Hermosilla. (By Gwen Maurillo / EV Mail FEB. 10-16, 2025 issue)
