CARINDERIA WAR IN ORMOC TAKES CENTERSTAGE. The Ormoc plaza was filled with mouthwatering aroma of well-loved Filipino cuisine, as the Carinderia War took place on April 27, 2025, in celebration of the Filipino Food Month 2025.

Six (6) participating carinderias (Alice Eatery, Atong Kan-anan, Dada’s Food House, Diane’s Mini Kitchen, Teacher’s Pet Food House, and Rosemary Grill) showcased their own renditions of five well-loved local dishes, namely: Pork Humba, Pochero, Chicken Rhapsody, Utan Bisaya, and Pinog-unan Isda. The title of Best Pork Humba went to Dada’s Food Haus while Teacher’s Pet Food House earned three recognitions for excelling in the dishes Pochero, Chicken Rhapsody, and Utan Bisaya. Lastly, Diane’s Mini Kitchen secured the spot for Best Pinog-unan Isda.

It was a truly riveting experience watching the cooks of these carinderia cook it out. One for the books, Ormoc. (Grabbed from the City Government of Ormoc FB Page / EV Mail APRIL 28-MAY 4, 2025 issue)
