ORMOC CITY MAYOR LUCY TORRES GOMEZ and 4th District of Leyte Representative Richard I. Gomez attended the Department of Education Regional Office 8 Regional Management Committee (ReManCom) Meeting on Monday, April 28, 2025, at ACLC College of Ormoc. ReManCom brings together the leaders of the region’s education system to align strategies, share insights, and strengthen the foundations of learning in the region.
In her address, Mayor Lucy emphasized that a nation’s true wealth lies in its people, with education serving as the greatest equalizer, shaping individuals and empowering them for a better future. She also urged the education champions to continue honing the minds of young learners, likening them to Swiss knives—versatile and sharpened in different skill sets.
Also in attendance at the said gatherwing were: Regional Director Dr. Evelyn R. Fetalvero, CESO III; Assistant Regional Director Dr. Ronelo Al K. Firmo, CESO IV; Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Carmelino Bernadas, CESO V; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Lorelei Masias, JD, CESO VI; and various Schools Division Superintendents and Assistant Schools Division Superintendents from all divisions across Region 8.
