PROUD ORMOCANONS were recognized for their outstanding achievements during the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Ormoc City Hall lobby. Engr. Ace Avila Juntilla was recognized as one of the Top Filipino Engineers in the Middle East by The Filipino Times Watchlist 2025 on February 14, 2025 in Dubai. In addition, the City Government of Ormoc also received the Most Promising Tourism Destination of the Year award during the Fashion Festival 2025 – Runway Icon Philippines, organized by Realtalk Philippines in partnership with Team DC Manila and in cooperation with the Department of Tourism. This recognition serves to highlight the city’s commitment to sustainable tourism, cultural preservation, and community engagement.

Additionally, the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) presented to LGU-Ormoc a Seal of eBOSS Compliance for its achievement in establishing a fully-automated Electronic Business One-Stop Shop. The award was conferred by ARTA–DTI–DILG–DICT JMC 2021-01.

In her morning message, City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez reaffirmed her dedication to serving Ormoc, stating that she intends to continue building beautiful dreams for the city throughout her extended term as mayor.
