TACLOBAN CITY – Boarded by 455 guests and 371 crew members, MS Europa 2 visits Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte on Saturday (February 1).
MS Europa 2 is accordingly a German ship operated by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. It is said to be the first cruise ship to visit Eastern Visayas this year. It is, however, its fourth visit to the island since 2013.
Guests were welcomed not only by the fine white sand and pristine waters but the warmth of Filipino hospitality with a dance performance from Taberna National High School. They enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, and stand-up paddling while basking in the sun and admiring the stunning view of the famous Kalanggaman shifting sandbar.
Prior to visiting Kalanggaman, the cruise ship also went to Tagbilaran, Bohol; and that the ship was set to head to Boracay after its Kalanggaman visit. (By Marie Tonette Marticio / EV Mail Jan. 27 – Feb. 02, 2025 issue)
