TOURIST REST AREA TO RISE IN EASTERN VISAYAS. A Tourist Rest Area (TRA) will soon rise and be built specifically in the town of Inopacan in the 5th District of Leyte. Last week, no less than Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia -Frasco together with Asec. Christine Cari and 5th District Cong. Carl Cari led its Groundbreaking Ceremony.
It was learned that the said facility is the very first in Eastern Visayas which aims to provide comfort and convenience to both local and foreign guests. The project is realized through the joint efforts of the Department of Tourism, the Office of Congressman Carl Cari, and the Municipality of Inopacan.
It was further learned from the Congressman’s social media feed that this TRA is designed to serve visitors of the renowned Cuatro Islas Protected Landscape and Seascape (CIPLS). Clean restrooms and a Pasalubong Center is expected to be among the provisions. In addition, this initiative aims to further promote the country as a premier tourist destination.
Cong. Cari expresses his sincerest gratitude to DOT Officials headed by Secretary Frasco for spearheading the event, including Usec. Ferdinand Jumapao, his wife Asec. Christine Cari, and Director Glenn Ocampo; TIEZA Assistant Chief Operating Officer Jetro Nicolas Lozada, DOT Region 8 Director Karen Tiopes, CIPLS Superintendent Joanna Speeckaert, Provincial Tourism Consultant Frances Ann Petilla, and the Inopacan LGU headed by Mayor Jojo Pua.
