ORMOC CITY – It’s another feather on its cap as the City Government of Ormoc was awarded a Plaque of Commendation by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) for successfully establishing a fully-automated Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS).
The said award was received by Joel E. Mendoza of the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO)-Ormoc at the Manila Hotel on May 22, 2025.
The eBOSS is a single portal for the renewal and application of business permits jointly implemented by the DILG, DICT, DTI, and ARTA. The operationalization of the portal is mandated under Republic Act No. 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Accordingly, the fully automated eBOSS system in Ormoc City demonstrates the city’s transparency, efficiency, and excellent public service—facilitating easier, faster, and more citizen-friendly business transactions.
The said digitalization initiative, furthermore, is important in the ease of doing business and invaluable to local micro, small, and medium enterprises and other businesses. (By Gwen Maurillo/EV Mail  MAY 19-25, 2025 issue)
