THE CITY OF Baybay, Province of Leyte, and the Municipality of Guiuan in Eastern Samar are now officially sisters after the Sisterhood Partnership Agreement of the two LGUs was sealed on August 20, 2024.
Baybay City’s team was headed by Mayor Jose Carlos L. Cari while Mayor Annaliza P. Gonzales-Kwan led the Municipality of Guiuan officials. The partnership of the said localities is so beneficial to their respective constituents as further development is expected to flourish, as the two Mayors signed the Memorandum of Understanding where principles of mutual cooperation are set, capitalizing on each other’s strengths.
In the City’s social media accounts (Lihok Baybay and Baybay City Updates), it was shared that Baybay City will certainly be able to gain an understanding of Guiuan’s efficient tourism programs while Baybay City will provide technical assistance to Guiuan in adopting the Barangay Management Information System (BMIS), among others.
