BAYBAY CITY – Barangay Poblacion Zone 20, this city, is said to be a national contender and will represent Eastern Visayas for the Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives and Awards (LTIA), under the category of Independent Component Cities/Component Cities.
On July 23, the LTIA National Board of Judges (NBOJ), headed by Jose Denver Q. Calo, Division Chief of DILG BLGS-RAD, accordingly visited the said barangay for onsite validation. It was learned that the composition of the LTIA-NBOJ National Validation Team are from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Supreme Court, Gerry Roxas Foundation as the Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative, Department of Justice (DOJ), and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). They came to personally check and verify the veracity of the Katarungang Pambarangay documents, as well as conduct inquiries on how barangay Poblacion Zone 20 implements the Katarungang Pambarangay in their locality.
Baybay City Mayor Jose Carlos L. Cari, in his message, extended his warm welcome to the members of the NBOJ and commendsed the Lupon Chairperson Carmelita C. Tito, along with the members of the Lupon, for their exemplary performance that is bringing pride to the City of Baybay. On the one hand, DILG Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe expressed his pride in the Lupon’s recognition as one of the 20 Lupons selected for onsite validation among the 42,029 barangays in the country. He emphasized that this achievement alone makes them winners.
Accordingly, the National LTIA winners will be announced during the National Awarding, scheduled on October 2024 in Manila. Furthermore, it is a Presidential Award and is done annually to recognize outstanding Lupons that adequately demonstrate the ability to fairly and efficiently resolve cases referred to them.
