TACLOBAN CITY – To promote peaceful communities through holistic and inclusive barangay development, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 officially launched the “Agarang Aksyon at Damayan para sa 2025 Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Target Barangays” (ARANGKADA RCSP 2025), which was done via online conference on February 7, 2025.

In his remarks, Darwin Bibar, DILG Assistant Regional Director, emphasized the said activity as a chance to build the groundwork for RCSP initiatives in 2025 and further highlighted the significance of collaboration. “We come together not just as representatives of government agencies or local government units, but as partners with a shared mission to bring genuine development and lasting peace to our communities,” said Bibar. On the other hand, RCSP Regional Focal Officer Gin Kenneth M. Estaco gave a thorough explanation of the RCSP phases throughout the activity, detailing a methodical strategy for meeting the needs of the target barangays.

In order to optimize impact, he emphasized the significance of a systematic execution strategy and the need for appropriate cooperation among stakeholders. Furthermore, Dr. Jhonel M. Añavesa, Chief of the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), reaffirmed his point by emphasizing the vital roles that diverse stakeholders—especially national government agencies—play in guaranteeing efficient and successful execution across the various stages. Key planning documents for the Commitment Setting for FY 2025 RCSP Barangays were agreed upon by participants in order to guarantee coordinated actions going ahead. These comprised the Executive Orders (EO), approved strategic planning, and strategic plan submission, which will all function as program-directing frameworks. Now that ARANGKADA RCSP is underway, DILG Region 8 is unwavering in its commitment to promote sustainable development, inclusive growth, and peace in local communities. The activity was participated in by representatives from National Government Agencies (NGAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and DILG Provincial and Field Offices’ personnel.
