ORMOC CITY – A drunk man, who confronted his debtor, was hacked by the latter in Barangay Dolores, this city, at around 6:00 P.M. on February 23, 2025.
The victim was identified as alias “Dino,” 49 years old, male, married, a farmer, and a resident of the said barangay. On the other hand, the suspect was a 16-year-old male, single, jobless, and a resident of the same barangay.
According to a 17-year-old witness, who is a resident of Barangay Luna, Ormoc, the suspect was inside their house with his girlfriend when the victim, who was under the influence of intoxicating liquor, suddenly arrived, creating alarm and scandal. The victim confronted the suspect regarding his debt and then forcibly dragged the suspect outside and punched him in the abdomen. In response, the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.
The victim was immediately brought to the Gatchalian Hospital in Ormoc City for immediate medical attention. On the other hand, the suspect was arrested by barangay tanods and was subsequently turned over to the responding Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel of Police Station (PS) 5 under the Ormoc City Police Office (OCPO).
