ORMOC CITY – Awards of prestige and importance were given out during the 2021 Tatak Ormoc Business Innovation Awards Night, an annual recognition program jointly undertaken by and between LGU-Ormoc led by City Mayor Lucy Marie Torres-Gomez and the Ormoc City Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ORCHAM), Inc. headed by President Stephanie Diane “Twinkle” U. Chu, which event happened at the Carlosta Hotel on Thursday, October 13, 2022.
The said yearly event aims to recognize homegrown businesses in Ormoc City for their exemplary achievements and contributions to the local economy; and to encourage business excellence in delivering products and services to the public.
Moreover, the awarding aims to acknowledge the inspiring men, women and young entrepreneurs who demonstrate the innovative mindset, winning vision, and determination that will inspire business owners in Ormoc to be productive and more accomplished in their business goals and to be mindful of their significant role in nation building; and feature products and services the city is proud of, and wishes to showcase, so that it may jointly promote tourism and economic development for the city as well as provide sustainable employment to the people of Ormoc.
Mayor Lucy together with Leyte Fourth District Representative Richard I. Gomez, Ormoc City Councilor Rey Evangelista, Twinkle Chu, Joel Mendoza of the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) handed over the certificates of recognition and plaques to the awardees.
Accordingly, the 2021 Tatak Ormoc Consumers’ Choice Winner for Best Dinuguan is Boylins Eatery, Best Local Burger is Mayong’s, Best Cafe is Mauro Café, Best Siomai is Manoy’s Inasal, Best Pancit is Elrick Eatery, Best Porkchop is Hungryanz Grill, Best Siopao is Tita Tatta, Best Fitness Center is Fit Stop, Best Adobo is Big Roy’s Café, Best Sisig is To Yax’s Food House, Best Massage Service is the Beauty Lounge, Best Restaurant Customer Service is Sabin Resort Hotel, Best Tuna Sandwich is Sabin Resort Hotel, Best Barbeque is Mito’s Barbeque, Best Local Pizza is P and J Pizza, Best Little Hotel is Rosetta Guest House, Best Video and Photography is Elite Marketing, Best Barbershop is Dongski Barbershop, Best Beauty Salon is CN Beauty Salon, Best Lechon is Gean’s Lechon Baboy, and the Best Chocolate Cake, Best Empanada, and Best Leche Flan awards were given to Ikea Cakes and Snacks.
Meanwhile, the Business Innovation Award in Agriculture was awarded to R & E Matres Farms, Business Innovation Award in Manufacturing was given to Mayong’s Bakery and Snack Haus, Business Innovation Award in Services was given to Huge Laundromat, Business Innovation Award in Tourism was given to Sabin Resort Hotel, Business Innovation Award in Food Services was given to Mimay’s Seafood House, Business Innovation Award in Retail and Trade was given to Advance Auto and Truck Parts, and Best Start-up Enterprise was given to Cake Sarang Cakes Shop. Finally, Ormoc City Councilor Peter M. Rodriguez was recognized as the ‘Man Entrepreneur of the Year’, Juanita Y. Armea as the ‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year’, and Annariza C.
