ORMOC CITY – Numerous Ormocanons and individuals from nearby localities flocked and participated in a peaceful motorcade and prayer activity to demonstrate their support to the former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD) and the National Peace and Order, which took place at the Ormoc City Plaza and Ormoc City Freedom Park on the evening of March 14, 2025.
During the program, the former president’s supporters screamed to free Duterte, for his healing, the government’s change of heart, and to return Duterte to the Philippines. A candle lighting, and noise barrage, among others were also done during the activity. In addition, the supporters yelled that they are not paid for joining said activity. “Hindi kami bayad,” they howled.
The starting and end point of the motorcade was at the facade of the Ormoc Superdome and Ormoc City Plaza. The motorcade route, meanwhile, began at the abovementioned location and headed to Aviles Street, Real Street, passing through the Anilao Bridge and gearing towards the Cogon Rotunda, then to the Ormoc District Hospital (ODH), Barangay Punta, Barangay Alegria, Bonifacio Street, and, finally, arriving at the said endpoint. Meanwhile, on the evening of March 15, 2025, a multitude of Duterte supporters once again gathered at the Ormoc City Plaza for a simultaneous prayer rally for the former president. The participants wore a white T-shirt as a symbol of peace and solidarity. To recall, Duterte, is already in the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands.
