ORMOC CITY – A buy-bust operation conducted early Monday evening at about 7:31 P.M. in Sitio Tinag-an, Barangay Ipil, this city, resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old suspect, alias “Rey,” and the confiscation of approximately 2.76 grams of suspected “shabu.”

 The operation conducted by the Ormoc City Police Station 6 (OCPS6), led by PMAJ Omar Roel B. Cartalla of OCPS6-SDET, in coordination with PLT Jay Ian Fabrero of OCPO-CDEU and supervised by PCOL Reydante E. Ariza, CD, OCPO, was carried out with the support of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

 Alias “Rey,” a single, jobless individual classified as a Street Level Individual (SLI) and a resident of Barangay Bantigue, Ormoc City, was apprehended after selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” to an undercover police poseur-buyer. The sachet has an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of PHP3,468.00, with an estimated weight of 0.51 gram.

 Further inspection led to the discovery of four additional heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu,” with an estimated weight of 2.23 grams, with an estimated DDB value of PHP15,164.00. The total confiscation included more or less 2.76 grams of suspected “shabu” with an estimated value of approximately PHP18,768.00.

Additionally, authorities recovered one (1) PHP500.00 bill and one (1) PHP50.00 bill used as marked buy-bust money, five (5) pieces of PHP500.00 bogus money, and one (1) black coin purse from the suspect. The confiscated evidence will be subjected to chemical examination at the Regional Forensic Unit. Criminal charges for Sections 5 and 11 violations, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165), as amended by RA 10640, are set to be filed against the suspect.
