ORMOC CITY – The new two-storey multipurpose building for the City Veterinary Office (CVO) located in Barangay Alegria of this city was formally turned over on Thursday afternoon, December 12, 2024.

The turnover ceremony was led by City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez, along with Ormoc City Councilor Caren Torres-Rama, City Veterinarian Dr. Jose Arnil C. Corong, and Barangay Alegria officials. Accordingly, funds for the said project was derived from the 20% development fund of Calendar Year (CY) 2023 amounting to PHP10,000,000.00 appropriation cost.

Meanwhile, the project has a total area of 208.95 square meters, with 193.20 square meters per floor area and 15.75 square meters for the PWD ramp. Dr. Corong expressed gratitude to the supportive mayor and to the members of the Ormoc Development Team (ODT), and the City Engineer’s Office for making the said project possible.

The city veterinarian emphasized that the newly turned-over multipurpose building dedicated to veterinary services of Ormoc City is a dream come true. “This brand new and state-of-the-art facility will enhance our ability to provide comprehensive care for our community’s beloved animals,” he said. “With modern furniture and fixtures, and expanded space, we are now more committed to delivering top-notch veterinary services to Ormocanons and ensure the health and well-being of all pets and livestock in our city,” he added.
