ORMOC CITY – A lineman, who is listed as a Street Level Individual (SLI), was apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Linao, this city, on September 26, 2024.
The suspect was identified as alias “Tyson,” a 36-year-old lineman residing in the said barangay. During the said operation, authorities confiscated 13 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, four (4) medium heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets suspected to be shabu, one (1) genuine five-hundred peso bill (PHP500.00) as buy-bust money, one (1) piece of black coin purse, one black sling bag, one unit of caliber 38 with no serial number, one black net cap, and four (4) live ammunition.
Upon apprehension, the suspect was informed of the nature of his arrest and was apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood. Further, the suspect was brought to the Ormoc City Police Station (OCPS) 4 for documentation and proper disposition. The confiscated evidence will be turned over to the Ormoc City Forensic Unit. Criminal complaints for violation of sections 5 and 11 under Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 as amended by RA 10640, or An Act that Further Strengthens the Anti-Drug Campaign of the Government, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act was also filed against the suspect.
The said buy-bust was conducted by the Ormoc City Police Station 4, under the leadership of Station Commander Police Major (PMaj.) Angelo L. Sibunga, together with the Ormoc City Intelligence Unit and Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU8) in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 8 (PDEA R8). The said operation is a part of the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO).
