THE ORMOC CITY Fire Station (OCFS) has emerged as the winner in the recently concluded 123rd Fire Service Anniversary, which is under theme, “Bumberong Bayani ng Bayan, Maaasahan Para sa Kaligtasan ng Mamamayan,” and held at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City.
The outstanding accomplishments garnered by the OCFS include Best City Fire Station 2024 and Best Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Unit 2024.
The OCFS, headed by FCINSP Darren P. Baclean, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Ormoc City for its steadfast support to the Bureau, including logistical and financial assistance for various programs and activities. According to the City Fire Station, this award is also a testament to the unwavering effort, sacrifices, and dedication of all OCFS personnel in delivering the highest standard of service that the public deserves.
The awards were based on the highest ratings according to the Bureau of Fire Protection Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (BFP-PRAISE) criteria. During the same event, Ormoc City Councilor Gregorio Yrastorza III, Chairperson of the Committee on Public Safety, Peace and Order, was also present to receive the Plaque of Recognition given to Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez for her invaluable support and efforts in strengthening the relationship with the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 8, especially OCFS.
