TACLOBAN CITY – Over PHP14 million of suspected shabu was seized after a high-value individual was arrested on Monday (November 18) in Brgy. 62-B here.
This, after authorities bought a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, which led to them seizing 42 more sachets weighing more or less 2 kilograms and PHP81,500.00 in cash during the subsequent search.
The arrested suspect was identified as alias “Jade,” 38, a construction worker, and a resident of said barangay. He is, accordingly, a top regional priority target for illegal drugs.
The operation was launched by the Tacloban City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit, together with the City Intelligence Unit, and the Regional Intelligence Division, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit.
The suspect will be temporarily detained at the TCPO Custodial Facility. He will be charged for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (By Marie Tonette Marticio / EV Mail November 18-24, 2024 issue)
