ORMOC CITY – Two leaders in the Philippine Army and Coast Guard finally received their stars as they advanced to the next higher positions.

Walking both first at their respective headquarters wearing their new rank on January 25, 2023, promoted are Commodore Romeo P. Pulido, Jr., Philippine Coast Guard District Commander in Eastern Visayas, and Brigadier General Noel A. Vestuir, 802nd Brigade Commander.

Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez graced the arrival honors and personally congratulate their well-deserved advancements. She came together with City Councilors Gregorio Yrastorza and Burt Pades, who also shared in the thanksgiving celebrations of the officials’ loved ones and personnel.

Pulido and Vestuir are classmates and products of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1991, and incidentally their units are based in Ormoc City. Both actively lead their troops in disaster responses as their area of responsibility is always visited by calamities such as typhoons, earthquakes and landslides.

With their promotions, COMMO Pulido and BGen Vestuir wish to inspire more and motivate the people’s lives especially their personnel towards their respective organization’s missions. By Josie Sersena (EV Mail January 23-29, 2023 issue)
