LEYTE, LEYTE – Around PHP 235,000.00 of church funds were stolen by unidentified burglars who robbed the parish registry office of the Immaculate Conception Parish located at Bonifacio St., Barangay Poblacion, Leyte, Leyte, on January 27, 2024.
According to the Leyte Municipal Police Station (LMPS), the said incident was discovered at around 8:30 in the morning on the same day by Parish Secretary Corazon Delantar.
The lost cash, which was stored in the parish’s main registry office, was discovered gone with the office door forced open, and the steel cabinet containing the money was also destroyed.
Pliers and screwdrivers, among other tools, that were likely used by the thief or thieves to loot the property, were found at the crime scene.
