TACLOBAN CITY – Over PHP66 million worth of suspected shabu was discovered at the FastCat Ferry Terminal in barangay Kinabranan Zone II, Allen, Northern Samar, Thursday (August 8).

Reports disclosed that a 30-year-old port officer, and a resident of barangay San Roque, San Isidro, Northern Samar, reported about an abandoned suitcase to the Philippine Coast Guard. Thereafter, the Coast Guard K9 Field Operating Unit conducted paneling and inspection, which resulted in the recovery of nine blocks of tea bags containing suspected shabu. Accordingly, said illegal drugs were left inside an abandoned luggage within the premises of Dapdap Port. 

The recovered items were brought to the Allen Municipal Police Station for documentation before it was turned over to the Northern Samar PPO Forensic Unit for examination. Initial report disclosed that the alleged contraband was 9.695 kilograms with an estimated worth of PHP66 million.
