THE ORMOC CITY Social Welfare Department (CSWD) in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC) organized on July 9-10, 2024 a comprehensive two-day seminar aimed at promoting natural remedies for various diseases, which was held at the Barangay Camp Downes covered court.
Josephine Hipe of PITAHC led the seminar by imparting her extensive knowledge on the health benefits of natural remedies. Accordingly, her sessions were highly interactive, focusing on practical techniques for creating natural soaps, with the participants eagerly engaging themselves in hands-on activities, learning the process under her expert guidance.
Moreover, the afternoon saw attendees from different districts of Ormoc replicating the soap-making techniques they had just learned.
The second day of the seminar, meanwhile, commenced with a review of the previous day’s activities, highlighting the art of natural soap crafting. PITAHC continued with a demonstration on acupressure, a traditional healing method that promotes overall well-being, with the same participants encouraged to practice the techniques themselves, fostering a deeper understanding of these ancient healing practices. The said event was also attended by Lito Cabaguing and Vince Ivan Yucamco, alongside dedicated personnel from CSWD and Barangay Nutrition Scholars.
