Veloso and five others before the Leyte Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in connection with the killing of a town’s former employee.
Veloso was charged along with his older brother businessman Emmanuel Veloso, Police Officer Manuelito Sidaya, Cayetano Dagandan III, an employee of the San Isidro local government unit, and unknown individuals tagged as John Doe and Peter Doe for the death of administrative officer Levi Mabini.

Emmanuel was arrested on January 19 this year for illegal possession of firearms after policemen, implementing a search warrant, found two guns and assorted ammunition in his residence.
The Velosos have denied involvement in the Mabini killing.
