ORMOC CITY – The CAA-II Basic Military Training (BMT) Class 01-2024 officially opened on November 15, 2024 with a simple ceremony held Camp Site, Brgy. Tongonan, Ormoc City.
The event was organized by Headquarters Delta Company, 93rd Infantry Battalion, 8th Infantry Division, Philippine Army. It consists of 60 trainees, 58 of whom are male and only 2 are female.
The Commanding Officer of the 93rd Infantry Bantay Kapayapaan Battalion, LTC Charlie L. Saclot INF (GSC) PA, introduced the keynote speaker, Engr. Andy T. Durog, Head of the Leyte Site Support Service (EDC). While other officers present at the said event included Captain Danilo C. Danao INF (PA), Commanding Officer of Delta Company, and Major Jay-Ar N. Cuevas (INF) PA, Operations Officer of the 8th Infantry Division Training School.
On the one hand, keynote speaker Engr. Andy T. Durog emphasized in his speech, “to support the fellow CAAs, encourage one another, and build a team grounded in trust and cooperation.” He added, “The bond you create will last a lifetime and will be invaluable when you are called upon to fulfill your duties. Let us remember why we are here to serve, protect, and lead with integrity. With dedication and determination, we will emerge ready to face whatever challenges come our way.”
