ORMOC CITY – Two Lions Clubs in this city recently held their Joint Induction Ceremony for their Officers.
These are the all-men Ormoc Supreme Lions Club MJF and the all-women Ormoc Ultimate Lions Club, MJF. The Presidents of the said clubs are Lion Ronnel Arcelo and Lion Eva Ann D. Arcelo. On the one hand, the newly recruited members for the Supreme are John Anthony Digao, Keith Dumandan and Jose Eulogio Mallen, and for the Ultimate are Maria Joanne Vincent Mart, Lina F. Villar, Gina S. Digor, Gina D. Calimotan and Karen E. Cabug.
The newly installed Presidents, in their respective acceptance speeches, shared that they wholeheartedly take up the challenge in heading their respective clubs but have the same message of asking support from their members, unity, and to be a team in continuing their projects and programs so they can make a mark and be the spark. “Driven with passion to serve humanity with love from the heart that makes a great and positive impact in the community, together and be the spark that ignites hope,” they both said.
The outgoing presidents, meanwhile, Lion Dennis O. Guillemer and Beatriz O. Guillemer, MJF expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the club for being an MJF Club. Accordingly, through the various activities and qualifications both clubs garnered a Club Excellence Award for being the Top 3 clubs within the District of 301-B2.
On the other hand, the Guest Speaker, DG Dr. Lucia Chiong-Sy, PMJF District Governor of District 301-B2, emphasized the Mission 1.5 on this Lion Year. The officers were urged to strengthen their membership, charter clubs, recruit more in order to reach more, and together make a mark and be the spark through its services.
