ORMOC CITY – A resolution authorizing Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Gatchalian Medical Center, represented by its Medical Director, Jaime Gatchalian, Jr., MD, as a referral hospital for patients of the City Health Department (CHD) needing emergency healthcare services, was approved by the 16th Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) on March 11, 2025.
The approval of said resolution, accordingly, is significant for the city’s residents, especially those in need of urgent or emergency healthcare services, who can benefit from a collaborative agreement with the said hospital. The said resolution, accordingly, seeks to establish a partnership between LGU-Ormoc and a duly licensed hospital in the city to ensure the effective delivery of medical health and welfare services, especially in times of emergencies and disasters.
In addition, LGU-Ormoc has also identified the CHD as its ambulance services provider through SP Resolution No. 2025-004A, confirming the management and maintenance of the donated ambulance from the Department of Health-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH-EVCHD), with the appropriate DOH license to operate as a land ambulance, assigned to the CHD as the ambulance service provider for the City Government of Ormoc, which resolution was adopted last January 3, 2025.
