6-CLASSROOM SCHOOL BUILDING BENEFITS GROWING SHS POPULATION IN MATAG-OB. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte 4th District Engineering Office has built a 2-storey, 6-classroom school building at Matag-ob Stand-Alone Senior High School (MSASHS) in Brgy. San Guillermo, Matag-ob, Leyte.
Throughout the years, MSASHS has seen a consistent rise in enrollment, resulting in overcrowded classrooms and limited space for learning. The new building was constructed to address this shortage and provide students and teachers with a more conducive learning environment.
“This school building directly addresses the challenges with the rising number of enrollees,” said District Engineer Peter Scheler V. Soco. “With proper classrooms now in place, students are more likely to attend regularly and stay engaged in their studies. When learners feel safe and supported in their environment, attendance and performance naturally follow.”
Funded under the Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF)—a national government initiative that finances the construction, repair, and rehabilitation of public school infrastructure—the PHP 14,962,499.77 project directly supports the Department of Education’s goal to ensure accessible and quality education for all Filipino learners.
