A TOTAL OF PHP 1,870,099.00 WORTH OF VARIOUS TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT were given to program beneficiaries during the turnover ceremony of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP)—Empowering Hands: A Livelihood Program for Ormoc City Technical Education and Skills Development Center (OTESDC) (TESDA) Graduates and Skilled Workers, which took place at the new Ormoc City Hall lobby on July 7, 2025.
Accordingly, the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program, also known as the Kabuhayan Program, is a project designed to uplift the lives of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers in the country, which aims to support beneficiaries in establishing new livelihood projects or enhancing existing ones.
A total of sixty-four (64) beneficiaries received said tools and equipment, wherein 17 were carpenters, 16 welders, 11 electricians, 18 plumbers, and 2 painters.
During said ceremony, OTESDC Administrator Allan Nobria congratulated the graduates and highlighted that the tools and equipment they received are a starter kit of opportunity and that this program emphasizes the partnerships of the government agencies. “Let us continue to work hand-in-hand to ensure that no Ormocanon is left behind,” he added.
The event was also graced by Vice Mayor Leo Carmelo Locsin, Jr., Sangguniang Panlungsod Member (SPM) Ari Larrazabal, SPM Edmund Kierulf, SPM Caren Torres Rama, SPM Burt Pades, SPM Kia Mercadal, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Josephine Hermosilla, and DOLE-West Leyte Field Office (WLFO) Labor and Employment Officer I Jane Abenoja.
