ORMOC CITY IS AT THE FOREFRONT IN SUSTAINABLE AND POSSIBLE CLIMATE RESILIENCE PROGRAMS. City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez proudly represented Ormoc at the Project Transform Colloquium 2025 held on August 27, 2025 at Hilton Manila, Pasay City. The national gathering brought together LGUs, national agencies, and development partners to turn climate and disaster science into real action for safer, more sustainable communities. Through Project Transform, Ormoc has already reached important milestones, including: “Biodiversity Profiling – helping us understand and protect our ecosystems; Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting – tracking emissions to guide climate-smart policies; Financial Literacy Programs – equipping communities with tools to recover and thrive; and Disaster Risk Management – preparing our people to withstand climate-related hazards.”

The Colloquium also showcased stories from other LGUs nationwide—proving that when science, governance, and partnerships come together, resilience is possible. Ormoc City’s participation highlights its strong commitment to building a greener, safer, and more resilient future for every Ormocanon.
