ORMOC CITY – LGU-Ormoc is calling on aspiring entrepreneurs, inventors, and innovators to participate in the 2025 Ormoc City Business Model and Prototype Competition.
The competition is in collaboration with the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion (LEDIP) Office, Ormoc Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Council, and Ormoc City Investment Incentives Board (OCIIB), in partnership with Ormoc City Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (ORCHAM), Ormoc City Youth Development Office (OCYDO), and Public Employment Service Office (PESO). It is accordingly Ormoc City’s champion of innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative problem-solving to drive inclusive and sustainable growth, providing an avenue for students, startups, and individuals to showcase innovative, market-ready, and socially relevant business ideas and prototypes. Moreover, it provides contacts with possible investors and partners as well as mentorship and support.
The grand prize winner will receive PHP50,000.00; PHP30,000.00 for the first runner-up; PHP20,000.00 for the second runner-up; and PHP10,000.00 for the consolation.
It is open to all senior high schools in Ormoc City only, wherein each senior high school can send up to three entries; students must be currently enrolled in the participating schools regardless of year level and strand; and there is a maximum of five students per group.
Meanwhile, for the college category, the competition is open to all state universities and colleges located in Ormoc City only; each school can send unlimited entries; participating students must be currently enrolled in the participating schools regardless of year level and program taken; and there is a maximum of five students per group.
Finally, for the open category, participants must be aged 18 to 35 regardless of educational or professional background and have resided in Ormoc City for at least six months prior to submission of entries; each participant can send unlimited entries; participating students must be currently enrolled in the participating schools regardless of year level and program taken.
