ORMOC CITY – The personnel and a few volunteers joined this city’s local electric cooperative in the hope of having a sustainable greener future, as they go out from power to nature at the same time sharing their own way of protecting planet Earth.
LEYECO V’s full support to the National Electrification Administration’s 56th Founding Anniversary and 16th National Electrification Awareness Month was the group’s active participation in the Nationwide NEA-EC Simultaneous Line Clearing and Tree Planting Activity with a theme: “Powering the Future.” Thus, the cooperative planted 150 iron bamboo (𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢 𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘩) in Brgy. Nueva Sociedad, Ormoc City.
This meaningful initiative not only commemorates NEA’s milestone but also aligns with LEYECO V’s 46th Service Anniversary and the LGU Ormoc Arbor Day Celebration. It underscores a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, biodiversity promotion, and the advancement of the city’s tourism goals, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
The activity was led by the Board of Directors headed by Dir. Paulito A. Cotiangco, alongside General Manager Atty. Jannie Ann J. Dayandayan, CPA. Jose Elmer Obus from the City Agriculture Office also graced the event, highlighting the LGU’s bamboo planting program and sharing proper planting techniques.
