ORMOC CITY – A fish vendor was assaulted and stabbed by his sons, which incident took place in Block 4 Rafi, Barangay Tambulilid, Ormoc City on September 7, 2025.
The victim, alias “Dew,” 48 years old, and with live-in partner, is a fish vendor and a resident of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Relocation Site of said barangay.
According to police, the suspects were the victim’s sons, who were also both fish vendors, alias “Leo,” 26 years old, with live-in partner and a resident of Coob Barangay Libertad, this city, and alias “Mike,” 24 years old, and a resident of Barangay Valencia, this city.
Ormoc City Police Station (OCPS) 4’s initial investigation revealed that at around 6:30 P.M. of the same date, the victim went to the place of the incident to retrieve his vehicle and park it near the school.
Furthermore, his nephew, alias “John,” informed him that “Leo” was at their house along with the victim’s parents. The victim immediately proceeded to the said house, and upon arrival, he was approached by “Leo,” who asked what the victim had told his other son, “Mike.” The victim replied that he only advised “Mike” to save some money for himself and his family. However, “Leo” insisted that “Mike” told him that the victim allegedly said he was going to kill him. The victim denied this and was shocked by the accusation.
The victim then went outside the house, not knowing that his other son, “Mike,” was already outside carrying a bladed weapon. Accordingly, “Mike” suddenly chased him, followed by “Leo.” Together the suspects assaulted the victim, during which “Leo” held the victim while “Mike” stabbed him in the back and buttocks.
After the incident, the suspects immediately fled in an unknown direction while the victim was brought to Ormoc District Hospital (ODH) for immediate medical attention.
