MAYOR GOMEZ: “BEING DIGITALLY LITERATE IS ESSENTIAL.” No less than Ormoc City Councilor Carmen Jean Torres Rama graced the graduation ceremony of DICT’s Project CLICK held at the Liga ng mga Barangay building on September 19, 2025. The participants were composed of students, LGU employees, and barangay officials who underwent five days of computer and digital literacy sessions with topics such as Cyber Security, Cyber Hygiene and many more.
City Councilor Rama also delivered the message of Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez where the importance of technology as a tool for empowerment was emphasized, stressing to use it wisely and responsibly, that is, “We live in a time where being digitally literate is no longer optional – it is essential.” Thus, the mayor advised the graduates to embrace the opportunity with open minds and open hearts, adding that every skill they gain adds to the strength of Ormoc as a City that is progressive, connected and inclusive.
