ORMOC CITY – A resolution granting authority to the City Mayor to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with Aboitiz Construction, Inc. (ACI) to provide employment opportunities in accordance with its manpower needs to the graduates of Ormoc City Technical Education and Skills Development Center (OTESDC) was approved by the members of this city’s 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) during their regular session on September 30, 2025.
OTESDC is a technical and vocational training center duly accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and established through City Ordinance No. 002 Series of 2019 to help the underprivileged or indigent constituents of Ormoc to acquire or strengthen their technical skills and enhance their employability in the job market.
The said resolution, meanwhile, proposed that ACI, the construction arm of the Aboitiz Group of Companies, registered as a quadruple “AAAA” General Contractor with the Philippine Contractors Accredited Board (PCAB) and with a wide range of experience in major engineering and construction projects, aims to provide opportunities for skills development that will meet the industry’s global standards while creating employment opportunities. ACI further desires to complement the OTESDC’s vision to help its graduates find employment while enhancing their acquired competencies and help the same keep up with the technological advancements and global standards of the industry.
