ORMOC CITY COUNCILORS Edmund Kierulf and Caren Torres Rama attended the Blessing and Grand Opening of the Fresenius Kidney Care, located at the lower ground floor of the Ormoc Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Barangay San Pablo, Ormoc City, on Thursday, October 16, 2025. The newly opened hemodialysis center aims to provide accessible and quality care for patients with kidney-related conditions — serving not only Ormocanons but also nearby residents and even visiting foreign tourists.

Fresenius Kidney Care, headquartered in Germany, operates 20 branches across the Philippines. The Ormoc branch is equipped with 20 hemodialysis stations, with all patients covered by PhilHealth for up to 156 sessions.

The blessing ceremony was officiated by Rev. Fr. Fritz Del Pilar, priest-in-charge of the St. John Paul II Mission Station. Also present were Area Manager Rose Ann Salanap Obera, Ormoc Branch Manager Avegiel Aviles, and Nephrologist Dr. Mercedita Piamonte. The facility operates from 5:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. daily.
