ORMOC CITY – A 29-year-old male was accidentally electrocuted while installing a ‘tarpaulin’ poster in Barangay Campetic, Palo, Leyte, on July 3, 2025 at around 4:50 in the afternoon.

The victim is alias “Dan,” a resident of Tigbao, Tacloban City. The victim suffered third-degree electrical burns after his tie wire brushed over a live electrical wire.
Accordingly, on the said date, the Palo Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Operations Center received a report of an electrocution incident while installing a tarpaulin in the said place. 
The Palo Emergency Response Unit (PERU) immediately provided first aid at the scene and transported the victim to Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC) in Cabalawan, Tacloban City, for further medical treatment.
The Palo MDRRMO reminds everyone to take extreme caution when working near electrical wires to prevent similar incidents and to always use proper safety equipment, avoid contact with live wires, and, finally, to seek professional help for tasks involving electrical risks.
